Chuck Ammons is a father, husband, pastor, author, songwriter, and friend whose greatest passion is helping people encounter the goodness of God as Father and discover the greatness of their unique voice in His Kingdom.
Fatherhood has shaped every part of Chuck’s life and calling. After spending many years wrestling under a worldview marked by fear and shame, he experienced a profound awakening to God’s love for him as Father—an encounter that didn’t just change his beliefs, but transformed his identity and redirected his ministry. Chuck is the proud dad of five incredible kids, a foster dad who has had the joy of partnering with Jesus in the restoration of broken families, and a spiritual father to sons and daughters across the globe. At the heart of his message and ministry is a simple, hope-filled conviction: God is ridiculously good, and He is relentlessly in love with all He has made.
Chuck has been married to his high school sweetheart, Jill, since 2002. She is his very best friend, his partner in ministry, and the love of his life. Jill radiates the love of Jesus, anchors their family, and brings more laughter into Chuck’s life than anyone else on the planet.
Since 1998, Chuck has had the joy of serving in the local church, and he has been in leadership within the same congregation since 2001. He currently serves as Pastor and Lead Visionary at Overflow Church, while also being a passionate advocate for unity among the churches of the Tampa Bay area—a place he and Jill are grateful to call home. As a pastor and teacher, Chuck carries a father’s heart and a communicator’s gift, helping people see God clearly, live from beloved identity, and walk in freedom, purpose, and joy.
Chuck is the author of seven books, with several more on the way. Through his writing, he seeks to bring perspective, passion, and perseverance to those longing for a deeper, more grounded faith. His work consistently points readers back to the finished work of Jesus, the transforming love of the Father, and the gentle, faithful work of the Holy Spirit—awakening hearts to beloved identity and calling forth the unique voice God has placed within every son and daughter.
He is also a member of the singer-songwriter group Valley’s End, where he writes, records, and performs songs of hope alongside some of his closest friends—another expression of his love for creativity, community, and honest storytelling.
Above all else, Chuck desires to be faithful as he runs after Jesus—and to walk alongside others as a friend on the journey. His hope is that every encounter, whether through a book, a song, a message, or a conversation, feels like fresh wind in the sails. He is honored to be part of the CrossRiver family!
