Lori Ann Wood lives with her husband in an empty nest in the Ozark Mountain foothills of Northwest Arkansas. She is enamored with three great grown children, an amazing son-in-law, and one stellar granddaughter. Having discovered a serious heart condition almost too late, Lori Ann writes and speaks to encourage deep faith questions along the detours of life.

Her work has been published in several anthologies and numerous print and online venues, including The New York Times, The Christian Century Magazine, Bella Grace Magazine, The Joyful Life Magazine, and Pepperdine University Press. She is a regular contributor to Just Between Us Magazine, and also serves on the devotion writing team for The Devoted Collective.

Lori Ann’s first book, Divine Detour: The Path You’d Never Choose Can Lead to the Faith You’ve Always Wanted, quickly became a number one new release on Amazon and has won eight international awards. Among them are First Place Nonfiction Book in Religion-Christianity by The BookFest Awards, First Place in the American Legacy Book Awards in Religion-Christianity, and Winner of Enduring Light in Christian Thought by Illumination Book Awards.

Since releasing her book, Lori Ann has been speaking around the country. In addition to the Women Walking with God Conference, she spoke as the featured survivor at the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women Luncheon, and at The Pepperdine Harbor Lectureships along with many other retreats, conferences, and summits.

Following her sudden heart failure diagnosis, she was trained at Mayo Clinic to become a Community Educator for WomenHeart to help other women navigate heart disease. But Lori Ann’s greatest passion is supporting those who’ve found themselves on any unplanned path in life.
