Catherine Ulrich Brakefield is a freelance writer with articles in numerous publications and periodicals. She authored for Arcadia Publishing, Images of America, The Lapeer Area, and Images of America Eastern Lapeer Area. Guidepost, Baker Books and Revell have all published her short stories. They are also featured in CrossRiver’s Abba’s Devotion series.

CrossRiver Media published her inspirational historical romance, Wilted Dandelions in 2015. It won Honorable Mention in the Eric Hoffer Book Awards and Christian Small Publisher Book of the Year award in 2016.
Her Destiny Series is growing in popularity with book clubs nation-wide. Swept into Destiny won third place in the 2018 Wright Medal Award. Destiny’s Whirlwind won 2022 Book of the Decade Semi-Finalist, Destiny of Heart won first place in the 2019 Maxwell Medal Award. And Waltz with Destiny was a Finalist in the 2020 Best Book Awards.
Her newest novel, is an inspirational Amish futuristic romance, Love’s Final Sunrise, a Finalist in the 2023 Best Book Awards.

Catherine enjoys horseback riding, swimming, camping, and traveling the byroads across America. She lives in Michigan with her husband, Edward, of fifty-four years and her four Arabian horses. Her children grown and married, she and Edward are blessed with two handsome grandsons and three beautiful granddaughters!
