Have you ever had a parent tell you things like you are not good enough… I sure have or maybe you have questioned what is my purpose. If you are like me then this book is a must read as it brings healing in your life as Robin shares her personal story with an alcoholic father, the loss of a child… and how God brought her through. I highly recommend it!” I believe by time you finish this book as it did for me it will give you insight of your divine design and all that God has for you! One of the best books I have read to date. Grab this book. You will be so thankful you did

  2. Shari Potter

The author tells her achingly honest story of her journey to rewrite the negative, distructive script of her life to find her worth as God intended. The reader soon realizes that though details may differ, Robin’s story mirrors their own storyline of lies, destructive habits and negative mindsets.
Filled with scripture and insightful study questions, Uncover Your Divine Design will help you put aside those negative mindsets and thediscover the person God created you to be.

  3. Carol Remrey

Divine Design the author was very courageous to open up her life for the world to see, what her struggles were and how God put people in her life journey to help with a growing relationship with the Lord Jesus in her life.
Divine Design helped me work through some struggles that I was aware of, better yet the ones hiding within, some words were a bit louder than others. (like a bullhorn). LOL
Many teachable moments, and points I could relate to. I felt compassion for her while reading about her struggles.
I really appreciated the end of each chapter, it allowed me an opportunity to gather and write down my thoughts, and have a study guide that is all centered on the word of the Lord.

  4. Debra Allard

I recently read an advance copy of this book, and the author’s real-life events kept me on the edge of my seat. She shares her heart and how she pulled through those tough situations. I found myself sobbing several times. This book will undoubtedly touch every heart, but it will especially affect those who’ve dealt with suffering. But there are moments of joy as well. The author asks questions at the end of each chapter and gives Scripture verses for solutions. I couldn’t read just one chapter a day, I had to read the entire book to the end. If your life circumstances are rough–I highly recommend this book so you can learn how to pull through.

The truth seems so simple: Our identity is rooted in Christ. We are His. Unfortunately our life experiences often get in the way of accepting that. The author shares her own search for identity and how she overcame trauma, lies, and negatve mindsets. Some of the topics covered are vctim mentality, childhood patterns that carry on to adulthood, negative self-talk, and thought patterns. Though at the beginning I didn’t think this would be a book that would be partcularly valuable for me, I soon found myself taking lots of notes as God spoke to me through the author’s words and the use of His Word. Each chapter ends with study questions to help the reader do the deeper work of discovery.

  6. Gary Hocker

As a Pastor for 33 years I could recommend this book for small group study or for personal devotions. Robin has always stood out to me as a very open seeker after God. 1 John 1:9 and James 5:16 have served her well in becoming the Godly woman she is today.

  7. Linda Rossi

Robin is a captivating writer. She put her heart and soul into this to help others grow in Gods’ love and grace. She is an excellent writer led by God. I recommend her book to anyone who would like to be touched spiritually as God speaks to us through her story and our own. Thank you for sharing your story!

  8. Lori Ann Wood

While we are often waiting to feel healed, this book provides a refreshing reminder that we already are. And God sees each of us as whole, once we admit our brokenness. Robin wrote a beautiful book with vulnerability in sharing even the hard parts of her story. It has touched my heart and I know God has plans for it to help many more. I especially love the Study Questions section at the end of each chapter, where readers are encouraged to See Your Thoughts, Set Your Mind, Seek & Speak What’s True, and Celebrate.

  9. Ruth Schmeckpeper

Robin Melvin artfully weaves her story into lessons of faith and heart that have led to her healing. She explores the pain of wearing “hand-me-down habits forged in past sin, coping, hiding skills.”. In twelve study lessons she uses the word of God to release readers from unhealthy mindsets and establish the truth that we find our I am in THE I AM.
Well written. Great for individual or small group studies. Study questions are thoughtful and worth taking the time to explore on your spiritual journey.

  10. Tammy

I recommended this book to some friends who are in recovery from addiction. While addiction recovery isn’t specifically Robin’s story, her journey, questions, and eventual reliance on God and his Word as she healed from life with an alcoholic parent suffering from PTSD and her own life of seeking love and acceptance in all the wrong places is universally helpful to all who wonder if anyone “out there” cares about them. The self-study questions and Bible references at the end of each chapter are especially helpful. Great book for personal use or use in a group setting.

  11. TRACY HOLLOWAY

“If you could do anything you wanted, what would you do?” Thus began Robin Melvin’s personal journey of recovery, discovery, and learning to forgive and love herself—and finding her own “divine design”.
Robin shares scenes across her life that reveal both the trauma she carried inside because of a broken childhood and the grace and mercy she found in Jesus Christ. As she shares her story, it’s as if she is talking directly to you, punctuating her story with questions (“Are you old enough to remember ribbon candy?” um…maybe 😉) that help to create a mental picture, and she calls the reader “friend” and “sister”. Each chapter in the book ends with a study guide useful for personal reflection or a group devotional study.
I initially started reading this book because I know the author and was asked to read/review an advance copy of the book. I wasn’t expecting to struggle to put the book down! Even after finding Christ and experiencing a rebirth of faith, Robin continued to be tested repeatedly as she grew in her faith. Her “final exam” was forgiving herself and making peace with her past. As the saying goes, your past shapes you, but it doesn’t define you or your future.
A couple things I specifically loved: (1) she saves the contextual information about her father until the end of the book, which is both fascinating and adds considerably to the poignancy of her story. (2) It says a lot about her life journey, that in the foreword she thanked her parents, even though they were the source of much of her pain. In the end, the book is just as much a love letter to her dad in particular as it is a testimony of her growth and her faith.

  12. Val Marshalek

Robin’s courageous journey of sharing her life story and feelings, leads one to reach deep inside themself to discover you are not alone. You can redesign your expectations and perceptions of yourself and others. There is always someone beside you, HE who believes in you and alway has.
I definitely would recommend this awesome book. So get ready to read and join Robin and her fellow readers in some “soul searching”.

  13. Heather Roberts

Thank you for writing this book, Robin. It is so heart-felt it feels like a non-judgmental friend coming alongside you, holding you up, not pushing you over. I got a lot out of the questions that were presented. They helped me to dig deep.
A quote that impacted me was, “Since we’re created in His image, does harsh self-criticism insult God’s workmanship?” OUCH. That statement helped me re-evaluate my self-talk.
I whole heartedly agree with her statement that we are all learning how to listen, speak and react well to each other. I remind myself of this when I don’t live up to the full potential of grace that God has given me.
The book’s format is helpful to organize the chapter. See, Set, Seek, Speak and Celebrate. I must admit my favorite was the Celebrate; they are compact powerful prayers.
Again, thank you, Robin, for writing this. This is just what I needed in the season that I’m in.

  14. Jenny Spontak

Robin does a fantastic job of describing her pain and the emotional wounds that were a result of her difficult childhood and life’s hardships. She shares her journey of healing she found in the only one who can heal us, Jesus Christ. Her writing style captures you and fills you with hope for your own emotional healing.

  15. Lois Glass

Robin is a gifted writer who shares with honesty and passion how the Lord drew her to Jesus through deep pain in her life. She goes on to share her journey with the Lord as He began the sometimes painful process , from the inside out, of conforming her to the person He designed her to be. She has an amazing way of drawing us into her story and then giving us thought provoking questions and Bible verses at the end of each chapter that encourage us to grow in our own walk with Jesus.
A compelling book well worth reading!!!

If the Purpose Driven Life and Battlefield of the Mind had a baby, this book might be that offspring. It’s that valuable! What sets this book apart is that it’s a love story. Robin’s transparency is what drives this book, and makes you cheer her on at every twist and turn. If the whole church can be this honest we might just have a shot!
As a child of an alcoholic, and as a leader of a local Celebrate Recovery, I can’t recommend this book enough. I bought a few copies to give to loved ones. Geared toward women, but I found so much I could relate to. Let the men in your life read it when you’re done with it!

  17. Lin M

I found this book to hold a deep and abiding love Robin beautifully has for the Lord.
She expresses it in every word of this book.. It was very moving and l highly recommend it for all to read.

  18. Thomas Billish

As I was opening Robin’s soul-searching book, I was expecting to
experience a great chasm between the life experiences of a troubled
woman and life of a troubled man. She proves that we are not so
different except for the pregnancies. Life’s trials and tribulations may
have some variance, but the pain and guided solutions are
unfortunately similar. Thanks to Robin reliving the painful details of her
years battling her demons. Thankfully she has provided chapter to
chapter solutions including courage, common sense, and complete
    submission to God our Father.
Ladies, upon completion pass on to your husbands or significant others.

  19. Mary Billish

I loved Robin’s book, “Uncover Your Divine Design”. She was so transparent and really showed her heart and desire to help people come to Christ. It was very helpful that she had study questions at the end of each chapter for reflection to better uncover your hidden self.
I would highly recommend this book, not only for yourself, but for others as well. Also, it would be great for a Bible Study.

  20. Gina Pascarella-Fogle

After many loses I lost my way with Jesus and finding my way back was hard. After reading the book “ Uncover Your Divine Design” I immediately connected with the Author. She fought her way back and brought us along. I read the book fairly quickly because it kept your interest and left me wanting more. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who needs that push, I promise you will be left wanting more. The book is easy to follow and the questions after each chapter gives you a better understanding of what you’ve just read. I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a better understanding of Jesus.

Taking time to read this book is a gift to yourself This book is like a workbook for the soul. Uncovering the true you that God designed you to be is a gift that Robin has written in words of her own story and her own path.

“Uncover Your Divine Design” Review August15, 2022
This moving, thoroughly accomplished debut is the upshot of a baffling, mind opening question asked by a counselor to probe Robin’s true self.
In Uncover Your Divine Design, the author leads the reader to a better understanding of how your mindset affects your worldview, self-worth, personal limitations, opinions, and ultimately the path of your life.
Is there more? To use Robin’s words,” …at our created core, we have an inkling we’re made for more.” She then ushers us on a transformational journey providing helpful tools and helpful verses from God’s word. The introspection that is a result of those helps provides a path for healing and unveiling the Divine Design that God had planned for you while He knit you in your mother’s womb.
The reader will find Robin grasping her hand to walk her page by page through real life examples to find in Chapter 12, the last chapter, a new freedom, a new identity, and a “Designer” life.
I’m certain that this engaging non-fiction book will grip you from the first page, as it did me.
    Thank you, Robin Melvin!!

  23. Wendy Carver

Throughout “Uncover Your Divine Design”, Robin shows and reminds us of God’s Love…it is pure, strong and unconditional. Robin writes of how His love has healed her, given her grace and mercy and a new life. She does it masterfully through her life experiences and scripture.

  24. Lucy Melvin

In her book Robin formulates her thoughts through faith that endures the uncovering of her divine design. From being a little girl to becoming an adult we learn of her experiences dealing with seemingly unsolvable problems of life. Robin seeks the understanding of others and especially from her Savior……..Jesus. Her fathers influences on her as she grows up was marked and ever present. Perhaps he contributed to the revelation of the thoughts from heart that produced a WORK that was meant to be.

  25. Jan Bradshaw

Awesome Book, Robin! Very Enjoyable, Insightful and Inspiring!

  26. Deana Everson

Robin tells her story just like you’re sitting having coffee with her. Her writing gives purpose to her pain- to help the reader make peace with her/his pain and make the pain serve them as a means to freedom, victory and restoration to God’s Divine Design for your life!

  27. Tracy

This book is for anyone looking to change their self-limiting beliefs and find freedom. Robin’s raw stories encourage us to examine our own past stories and heal our inner wounds so that we are no longer stuck in the dysfunctional patterns and belief systems that keep us struggling.

  28. Joyce Salela

Robin is a very thoughtful and open author sharing her most intimate struggles with us. She made me stop and think about my own past and things I thought I’d dealt with and I’m 78.
We are never too old to grow. A very thought provoking read.

  29. Merline Jacobson

Robin Melvin is an excellent writer and has a way of helping the reader relate with her experiences. She bears her heart as she shares her difficult growing up years.

I like the way she put the book into sections as she shares her journey. Even though our paths may be different, she gives us an opportunity to reflect back in our lives to evaluate our own journey. She supports each section with scripture to encourage the reader to draw closer in their relationship to Jesus.

I challenge you to “Uncover your own Devine Destiny.”

  30. Lindsey Bell

This book challenged my thinking (in a good way). It helped me realize that I have been living for a long time with a victim mentality. Chapter 9, in particular, was powerful. Here are a few of my favorite quotes from the book:

“Do not let your past as a victim steal your present victory.”

“When a victim mindset is in charge, we expect the worst so that’s what we see: the negative, the lost opportunities, how our lives are lacking…”

“Gratitude helps us live from our healing, not our hurt.”

“Do we want the hurting parts of our stories to define us? Or will we let them refine us?”

The author, Robin Melvin, was honest with her own struggles. I appreciated her authenticity throughout the book.
